SpotLight Knowledge Development Suite

The Knowledge Development Suite is a family of applications used for SpotLight solution authoring. Using these applications, content developers can create and edit subject matter domain models, create solutions, assign attributes, define similarity mappings and equipment-specific observations, and perform domain model customizations. User access and security management is also included in this suite.

SpotLight Knowledgebase Administration Suite

The Knowledgebase Administration Suite provides a collection of utilities to facilitate management of existing knowledgebases and the addition of new solutions and knowledgebases. Major functions are:

  • Case Quality and Performance Improvement: performs statistical and heuristic analysis of a SpotLight knowledgebase and generates a wide range of metrics and assessments of case quality.

  • Case Development: helps the administrator manage the development process under the knowledgebase engineering methodology developed by CaseBank. It also assists the administrator with expert solution validation and translation services.

  • New Solution Collection: replicates the problem sessions from client stations to the master server and identifies problem sessions for new case preparation.

  • Knowledgebase Synchronization: replicates new solutions between servers and standalone systems. It synchronizes between “host” and “remote” servers and performs version management.
